Experience the Manley Stingray® II, refined tube integration

The Manley Stingray II represents the evolution of the acclaimed Stingray integrated amplifier, incorporating enhanced power supply capacity, refined circuit topology, and expanded connectivity while preserving the musical character of the original design. Hand-built in California, this all-tube integrated amplifier employs a quartet of EL84 output tubes with switchable Triode and Ultra-Linear operation, delivering comprehensive system control with vacuum tube amplification throughout the signal path.

All-tube command center with switchable output topology

The Stingray II provides complete integrated amplification through its vacuum tube architecture, utilizing EL84 pentodes in push-pull configuration. Switchable Triode mode delivers 20 watts per channel with enhanced harmonic structure and dimensional imaging, while Ultra-Linear mode provides 40 watts per channel with increased dynamic capability and extended bandwidth. This topology flexibility enables precise matching to loudspeaker efficiency and musical content preferences.

Modern connectivity with integrated headphone amplification

The amplifier incorporates contemporary features while maintaining analog signal integrity. A front-panel headphone output automatically mutes main speaker and subwoofer connections when engaged, enabling dedicated headphone listening. An auxiliary 1/8" input accommodates portable devices and computer sources. The advanced remote control operates via both infrared and omnidirectional RF transmission, providing wireless volume, balance, and input selection from any room position.

Enhanced power supply for extended dynamic performance

Each Stingray II is hand-assembled at Manley's California facility with significantly increased power supply energy storage compared to the original design. This enhanced reservoir capacitance delivers improved transient response and extended low-frequency control. Built with premium vacuum tubes and components throughout, the Stingray II embodies decades of Manley's high-fidelity amplifier engineering for long-term reliability and musical accuracy.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Manley Stingray II is a complete, all-tube, integrated amplifier designed to be the central hub of a high-fidelity home audio system. Its primary application is to drive a pair of high-efficiency loudspeakers, where its all-tube circuit can deliver a lively, detailed, and engaging sound. It is perfect for audiophiles and music lovers who want a single, elegant unit to control their entire listening experience without the need for multiple separate components.

The Stingray II offers two distinct modes of operation, allowing you to tailor its sonic character to your preference. In Triode mode, the amplifier delivers 20 watts of power with a slightly sweeter, warmer, and more intimate tonal quality. This mode is often preferred for late-night listening and for genres like acoustic and jazz music. In Ultra-Linear mode, the amplifier provides 40 watts of power, delivering a more dynamic, controlled, and energetic sound that is excellent for a wide variety of music.

The remote control for the Stingray II is a highly advanced unit that uses a dual-mode communication system. It operates with both InfraRed (IR) and Radio Frequency (RF) technologies. The IR functionality allows the remote to work with universal learning remotes, while the RF capability provides omnidirectional control. This means you can control the amplifier from any room in your home or even through walls and closed cabinets, providing a level of convenience and flexibility that is rare in high-end audio.

The Stingray II features a significantly updated power supply with vastly increased high-voltage energy storage. This is a key engineering upgrade that provides a more stable and robust supply of power to the vacuum tubes. The result is a much tighter, faster, and more coherent bass response, as well as improved overall dynamics and sonic impact. This ensures that the amplifier can handle complex musical passages with ease, providing a more articulate and engaging sound.

The Manley Stingray II is built with a carefully selected array of vacuum tubes. The power output stage uses four EL84 tubes. The input and driver stages use a 12AT7EH and a 12BH7EH, respectively. This combination of tubes is responsible for the amplifier's musical, three-dimensional soundstage and its ability to provide a clean, powerful signal with that signature tube warmth and liquidity.

Yes, the Stingray II is designed for seamless integration with a powered subwoofer. It features a dedicated post-volume subwoofer output that is located on the back panel. This output sends a line-level signal to your subwoofer, and because it is post-volume, the subwoofer's level will track with the main volume control. This ensures that the subwoofer is always perfectly in sync with the main speakers, simplifying setup and providing a more cohesive sound.
