Wannaclap! and the Manley Reference Cardioid

First: tell us a bit about Wannaclap!

Wannaclap is a musical accelerator where artists, producers, businesses and professionals from the music industry get together to enhance their musical projects.  

We have four main pillars:

  • Studio – Services for artists and businesses.

  • Live – Web platform to connect artists and venues

  • Campus - Workshops

  • Wannaclap Music - 360 Record Label

We are based in Montevideo (Uruguay) in a very quiet neighborhood that is two blocks away from the beach, making this a very special place for creative development. Our mission is to deliver the best possible product and understand the needs of the musical projects we work with in all of its stages, and our vision is to be the best Music Accelerator in Latin America.

What do you feel makes the studio so special?

  1. The creative space nurtured by a community of local and international talents that collaborate with the projects.

  2. A high quality equipment list prepared for any style of music production and recording.

  3. The good vibe and atmosphere that invades you the moment you enter the studio.

What’s one thing you think people should know about the music scene in Uruguay?

The music scene in Uruguay is very rich and is full of talented artists. We consume both local and international music, giving Uruguay a strong national identity and connection with the rest of the world’s music.

What’s your favorite thing about your Manley Reference Cardioid? 

We heard about this amazing mic years ago, and when we launched the studio in May 2021 we knew we had to get one to establish a high standard of recording quality. We love its capability to capture detail, its openness, and its design!
